Rhodothemis rufa - Unsuccessful Larval Emergence

I spotted this dead dragonfly at a retention pond of a residential area in Kajang. This dead dragonfly is of an unsuccessful larval emergence. It looks like the larval emergence took place at least 2 days ago. Close inspection of the dead dragonfly reveals that it is a male individual of Rhodothemis rufa

Tetrathemis haylina - Egg Development

I collected some eggs of Tetrathemis hyalina. The eggs were laid on 26 July 2025 around 10 am. The eggs started to hatch on 2 August 2025 (minimum 8 days). Showing below is a series of egg development of a single egg from the cluster of eggs collected on 26 July 2025. This egg hatched on 3 August 2025 around noon. So, this egg took 9 days to hatch.
