Pseudagrion pruinosum

I witnessed partial submerging oviposition of Pseudagrion pruinosum. I believe in rare occasion it will do a total submerging oviposition.

P/S:
I searched the internet for information on the egg laying of Pseudagrion pruinosum. So, it has been recorded that Pseudagrion pruinosum does total underwater oviposition with the male individual also down into the water. Click here for the paper about the egg laying of Pseudagrion pruinosum

Oviposition of Vestalis amoena

I observed the mating of a pair Vestalis amoena by the shore of a stream (Sg Durian). Right after the mating, the female was laying eggs on the leaf substrate in the stream. The male was perching at another leaf to guard the female.

Euphaea impar female may dive into water to egg lay eggs. You may read the diving behavior of E. impar female in the process of egg laying at the paper below:

Pseudagrion rubriceps

What a view to see many pairs of Pseudagrion rubriceps laying eggs together. Some of them holding other's body or wings while laying eggs side by side.

Pseudagrion rubriceps - Oviposition

I witnessed the underwater oviposition of Pseudagrion rubriceps (see below).  Before the underwater session, the female (attached to the male) was seen laying eggs above water. She retreated slowly into the water along the water plant stem while ovipositing all the way down under the water. The male was attached to the female during the whole process of underwater oviposition. The duration of the underwater session was 32 minutes.

Pseudagrion australasiae - Submerged Oviposition

I have seen underwater oviposition of Pseudagrion australasiae on a few occasions. The female totally submerges into water for oviposition. At the beginning of the oviposition, the male is attached to the female while the female retreats slowly down into the water. Later on, the male is detached from the female, leaving the female in the water. However, the male guards above the water throughout the whole process of underwater oviposition of the female. The underwater duration for the female may last for more than 10 minutes.
