Survey on Odonata - Kajang 2

There is a nice pond at Kajang 2, Selangor. The pond is located next to Kajang 2 Villas. It looks like the pond is well managed by the MKH Developer. The pond is open to public. A walk path is available around the pond for public to have a nice walk. The pond also attracts fishing hobbyists to do their fishing activity there. I did an Odonata survey at the pond on 4 January 2025. A total of 14 species of Odonata were recorded - 3 are damselflies and 11 are dragonflies.

Dragonflies and Damselflies of Tasik Ghazali UKM - II

I visited again Tasik Ghazali for dragonfly watching on 15 June 2024 (10 am - 3 pm). I managed to add two additional species (Pseudagrion australasiae and Prodasineura humeralis) to the species list for Tasik Ghazali. The story of the previous visit of Tasik Ghazali can be viewed here.

Dragonflies and Damselflies of Tasik Ghazali UKM

Tasik Ghazali in Campus Bangi Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (N2°55’19” E101°46’54”) is a good site for dragonfly watching. The small lake is located by the road side. You may click here to see a video of Tasik Ghazali produced by UKM. I did a field survey at the site to record the dragonflies/damselflies at Tasik Ghazali on 9 June 2024. I managed to record 31 species on that day (from 10 am to 7 pm).

Odonata of Tasik Kejuruteraan UKM - IV

Today (29 May 2024) I went to a canteen in UKM Bangi campus for breakfast. After the breakfast I stopped by Tasik Kejuruteraan for a quick check of the Odonata there. To my pleasure, I spotted five additional species for Tasik Kejuruteraan - Pseudagrion microcephalum, Crocothemis servilia, Pantala flavescens, Rhodothemis rufa and Urothemis signata.
